Today we are going to talk about the Reno/Sparks real estate market statistics for September 2015. We are going to compare them to the stats from August 2015, as well as what we saw at this time last year, in September 2014.
In the Reno/Sparks market, the median sold price is currently at $285,000, up 18.8% from this time last year. The number of units sold is up to 560, a 7.1% increase from August 2015 and a 10% increase from September 2014. The number of new listings is down 12% from August, which is to be expected as we transition into the fall market. However, the number of new listings is up 10% from this time last year. This is all great news.
As for the biggest winner for September 2015, we have to go with the West/Southwest area. They had a median sold price of $442,000, a 22.8% increase from August, and a 27.2% increases from September 2014. What this means is we are seeing more homes in the higher price ranges being sold, which is a good indication of market strength. The number of units sold in the West/Southwest area is up 5.8% from this time last year as well.
The top performer of the year in our market has to be North Reno, specifically the North Valley. We saw a median sale price of $224,000 in this area, which was up 18% from last year. We can assume that almost every home in this area has increased in value significantly since last year.
As a whole, our market is doing very well. If you have any specific questions for us, or are looking to buy or sell in Reno/Sparks, give us a call or send us an email. We would love to help out!
